Curse of Comparison
One of the greatest challenges in today’s society is the constant pressure to compare ourselves to others. Social media and publicized successes constantly in our faces make it feel like everyone else is miles ahead. It’s easy to get caught up in the noise, whether it’s external criticism or our own self-doubt.
This mindset was a roadblock that stifled my creativity. Instead of letting my art flow naturally and organically, I began doubting my abilities, questioning whether my work was “good enough.”
The turning point came when I shifted my focus inward. I started setting daily goals, small but meaningful steps toward self-improvement. The goal wasn’t to outdo anyone else but to be better than the person I was yesterday.
The key was patience. True growth doesn’t happen overnight. I gave myself months to let this process unfold. The progress was undeniable when I finally took a step back and looked at all I had created.
The lesson? Improvement is most powerful when measured over time and rooted in self-awareness, not comparison. Trust your journey, and let your art reflect your unique story.
